YR Urth Mineral Cosmetics uses only the purest 100% natural ingredients available and we do not use any perfumes, oils, talc, petroleum based or genically modified ingredients. Unlike many mineral makeup lines we do not use bismuth oxychloride, talc or cornstarch as fillers because they can irritate many skin types. Product ingredients can sooth and help protect your skin from environmental factors such as sun and pollution which is why we use the following ingredients.

White pigment of crystalline structure with a high reflective index and great inertness able to reflect and scatter light, derived from the naturally occurring mineral ilimenite.
Zinc Oxide

Anti-Inflammatory and Sun Block

Produced from naturally occurring zinc ore, absorber of the full UV spectrum of sunrays. Has anti fungal properties and has a soothing effect making it widely used against skin irritations.

Why YR Urth Mineral Cosmetics do not contain any Bismuth Oxychloride.
Bismuth usually produced as a byproduct of the processing of other metal ores, especially lead, copper, tin, silver, and gold, but also tungsten or other metal alloys. Bismuth is not known to be toxic, compared to its periodic table neighbours (lead, antimony, and polonium), although some compounds (including bismuth chloride) are toxic and should be handled with care. As with lead, overexposure to bismuth can result in the formation of a black deposit on the gingiva, known as a bismuth line[5].
Bismuth Oxychloride is an inexpensive filler that adds shine and glide to mineral makeup. It is heavy and can block pores which in turn for many people causes skin irritation. YR Urth does not use this ingredient or other fillers, as a result our powders have a lighter feel on the skin.
Talc in mineral makeup.
Talc is used in makeup for a number of reasons. One it is an inexpensive filler and binder in most traditional makeup lines. It provides a silky gossamer feel and texture to many of the high end cosmetic products on the market today. The down side to talc is that there can be health implications to its use. Also importantly it blocks pores and can cause irritations for people with sensitive skin, acne and other skin conditions. It is for these reasons YR Urth does not use talc in any of our formulas.
YR Urth Does Not Use Cornstarch or Rice Powder
Many mineral makeup brands contain corn or rice starch, which may contribute to blemishes because food-based ingredients can feed the
bacteria that cause acne; not recommended for anyone with
any degree of dry skin. Addtionally these powders can block pores.
